1 to 2 weeks before – change of address checklist

Bank - Notify your bank/building society.

 

Insurance - Inform your motor/home/life insurance company.

 

Doctor/Dentist/Optician/Hospital - Notify all of the change of address, this is important if you are receiving on-going treatment or you have children.

 

Schools - Your children’s schools will need to know the new address and the new contact telephone number.

 

TV license – In order to transfer your license to your new address.

 

Contact TV licensing on 08702423349. Alternatively, make any changes through the TV licensing website.

 

Contact both companies to advise of the date and change of address.

 

Vehicle licence – Send the section of your registration document to the Vehicle Licensing Centre, Swansea, SA99 1AB

 

Milk/Papers - Inform them of your move and pay up to date.

 

Last minute

 

Pack an overnight/first day bag for each person in your household. If you have, children ensure you pack any comfort toys they may need, also toys to keep them occupied. Documents/Valuables Pack all in a suitable container and keep in a safe place. These items would be best transported in your vehicle so you have them on hand in an emergency i.e. baby record book. Think of all the items you require on the first night in your new home i.e. toilet rolls, light bulbs, toothbrush etc.
